Die Fotoserie setzt sich mit dem städtebaulichen Konzept Tokyos als Ausdruck des gesellschaftlichen Zustands auseinander. In der harmonischen, reglementierten und traditionsbewussten Gesellschaft Japans existieren Räume der Anarchie, des Surrealen und Unkontrollierten. Jeder Zwischenraum ist ein eigenes Universum, ein Raum der individuellen Entfaltung und Zufluchtsort des Verdrängten, frei von Regeln - und im gesellschaftlichen Bewusstsein eigentlich gar nicht vorhanden. Die Zwischenräume sind ein faszinierendes Gebilde aus der Interaktion von Mensch, Raum und Zeit und für mich ein Ausblick in die Zukunft.

What interests me about Japan is the state of society, its structures and values. In this sense the work INTERSPACES ("in-between spaces") also reflects an urbanistic concept of Tokyo as an expression of the state of society: in the harmonious, regimented and traditional society of Japan there are spaces of anarchy, the surreal and the uncontrolles. Every in-between space is a universe unto itself, a space of individual developement, and a place of flight for the repressed, free from rules - and not actually available in the social consciousness. For me, these in-between spaces reveal fascinatin interactions between man, space and time.
